If your birds weren't excited with them even though they like leather I have a feeling my guys won't like them that much either. Was the leather stiff or soft, if you remember?
I have some leather laces and am going to make a knotty toy of some sort for a few of them.

Maybe that's why your birds didn't like them. Mine don't like stiff leather.
The website states that the leather will soften as the bird uses the toy or "If it is still too hard for the bird to manipulate, soften with mineral oil or other nontoxic oil for your bird."

I'll post a pic tonight. I did contact them and said I would use it as a supervised toy, but he refunded me. That was very kind of him. I'll check out their site.
