Sorry about the scab but good that it came off and he didn't need to be anesthetized. Hope that the medication helps with the healing and any pain.

Well he went to the vet for his recheck, the keel wound has healed up completely and he doesn't need his meds any longer.

The only bad news - he finally had a single long tail feather almost grown in, and he managed to knock it loose climbing around his carrier on the way there. It still had blood in it and everything. But, it didn't seem to bother him much, and I figure he will have a tail eventually.

Tail feathers on budgies seem very fragile and come out easily. Mine have lost many but they always grow back. Glad he is OK, minus the tail feather.
