Just wanted to introduce my newest FID, a Harlequin Macaw
I don't have a name picked out quite yet, as this little one is only 9-10 weeks old so it will be quite a while until they leave the breeder and come home with me. I'm really excited about that though, as it gives me plenty of time to get toys/stands and stuff set up. S/he comes with a large Macaw cage already, but I plan on buying an indoor aviary and only using the cage for sleeping.
This is the first baby bird I'll own, as my other two birds are older rescues/re-homes. I look forward to the challenges and rewards ahead because of it. I don't have large bird experience, but I do own a Rose Breasted and Green Cheek. I live in a three-story townhouse and the Macaw and Cockatoo will never be near each other, as my RB2 is on the first floor and my Macaw will get the third.
As s/he grows I look forward to posting more updates and on the fabulous day in a few months when I'm finally able to bring them home I'll share some photos.
