I have been working on outside, walk-in flights for the mousers. I'm exhausted, my hands are sore from cutting wire, and I still have a ways to go. Below are some pix's of the flights in progress. They were covered areas that had free standing cockatiel cages. Hopefully in another week I should have the flights done, and I'll post pix's of them completed. The Speckled will be the first ones to go into the flight. I have to wait with the White-backed and Blue-npaed because some pairs are on eggs.

The geese will be glad when the flight is done. I've been plucking their butts for feathers to give the mousebirds for nesting material. Now the mousebirds can pull in molted goode feathers as they blow against the sides of the flights.

Thanks! I can't wait to see them in the flight. I have a small wrought iron table and chairs I can set near the flight and watch the birds. PLUS I am curious when the Speckled go into the flight if they will fly sown to me if I hold out a small white dish of fruit. They came from the Seaworld flight which had visitors offer food to the birds in white dishes...so it would be great if they remember that :)

While digging the ground to plant the Arecca Palm I dug up a Glass Snake. He has been undeground in this area for almost 5 years, when the tiel cages were there. So I put him in a bucket while I planted the Arecca, and then I covered him with dirt and he crawled under ground. So the Glass snake will be a bashful resident of the Speckled flight. They're the only snake that I leave alone when I see them because they have never bothered the birds and they keep the flight floors free of insects.
