I've had Sunny (a Pacific Parrotlet) for almost 7 months now (he was a rescue from a neglectful home) and there's this problem under his wing. I've been to a vet for it already and they said "oh, it's normal" but I don't believe it. He screams in pain when it's touched, he's biting it so much it's starting to bleed, you can very clearly see the bone under the extremely thin skin. His other wing looks perfectly normal, which is why I'm so worried for this wing.

the last time we had a member with her quaker doing this. It was liver inflammation or fatty liver.
Looks like has plucked there and pins are coming in. If so plucking in this area is usually linked with a health issue

I will see if I can link that thread.

Would a 7 month old have fatty liver already? I'm not sure a bird that young would have developed it.

The area certainly looks raw and sore, and I think a different vet would be their best bet.
I see a lot of nipped off pin feathers, why is what you need to find out.

Im not sure how old the bird is??
They've had 7 months

While I think this area is linked with internal health/pain im not saying its liver...

While that area of the body does have less feathers, this looks a inflamed and as you've noticed, painful or irritated. I would get a second opinion.

We think he's around 2-3 years old. We also have no knowledge to what they use to feed him, but seeing how he will starve himself if I try to feed him anything other than small bird seed (I've tried all different kinds of pellets and fruits/vegetables, only thing he will eat slightly is spinach) I'm gonna assume they only fed him seeds

Was the vet who saw your bird an avian vet?
I also think you need a second opinion on what is happening

It can be difficult to convert , sometimes much longer, but keep trying. Great job in getting a little spinach in him! It took me 2 years to get an old quaker eating romain lettuce! Now she truly loves it! Tho she did start eating other veggies for me sooner.

Nutrition and immunity and health are so linked.

Keep trying different ways..some things taken too easier might be thawed frozen peas, corn cut off the cob, yellow/orange/red bell pepper offer the seeds inside as well. Cooked and mashed sweet potatoes served warm. Take a broccoli crown snd sprinkle seeds in it. Stuff things in cage bars..this can lead to nibbles or use veggies as a perch. Offer grated, chopped or in big pieces. A little boiled egg or scrambled egg.. Eat the veggies in front of them. You will have a lot of waste at first. But once they start trying a few things and learning they are actually food they get better and trying more things! Mine are much better at exploring new foods if I offer out of the cage, I serve on flat dishes on top of cage and I use them like foraging hanging thrm stuffed into seagrass mats.

Im glad you are going to seek a second opinion. Wishing you success in finding out what's going on. Keep us updated.

And would love to just see a picture of your rescue!
