My budgie Bobo is roughly 6 months old and he just recently lost his 2 long tail feathers. He looks all weird and stumpy now and it's kinda concerning me. Please tell me this is normal. :)

Don't worry. Nothing to get excited about. Losing any feathers is normal. They will grow back.

It's probably a molt. A couple of times a year (depends on the bird) a bird will drop some feathers, which will be replaced by new ones. They will look scruffy, have pin feathers. Sometimes they get grumpy. It's a normal part of having a bird, nothing to worry about. If you are really worried that it could be something else, you can always take him to the vet.

Hi Riley. Thanks for being concerned for your budgies health. I hope he thrives in your care.

Yes, this is completely normal as the others said. My birds all do this several times a year.
