Is there a trick to guesstimating age?

The girl I got Kimchi from said she was a year and a half old. But the more I look at kimchi and compare her to Tteok, the less convinced I am of that. I think she’s actually younger. Part of that is because of her tail feathers, and the fact that she keeps breaking them off the way a young bird would.

Is there a trick to guessing an age? Is there anything in particular that you look for?

Not that I'm aware of. I can look at a cockatiel and say "juvenile" or "senior" but that's not based on any real criteria, just dealing with birds. If you had a male, you could guess if it was a mutation that changed as the male matured, i.e a grey molting out his juvenile grey face but other than that, I'm not aware of anything set. Baby tiels do tend to be clumsy but I don't think there's a set age where they stop.
