I googled and used 1: 2 1/2 ratioI put too much water in my barley...
I did 22 min high pressure, with 3 min NPR then quick release. It looked like there was extra water, but after stirring it was all gone. In my IP excitement I forgot to rinse before cooking, so maybe that helped absorb lol.did it soak up all the water? how long did you pressure it?
That's EXACTLY how I love my barley!!Barley is so good in beef vegetable soup
I ate some too, plain like the birds and I liked it!Yum!! I love pearled barley myself
Sounds delicious!!Barley is so good in beef vegetable soup
I've been using it almost every day since I got it first for bird foods, now I've ventured into people food lolOh man those insta pots have been flying off the shelves at work and I keep thinking I should get one but I’m never home to cook anymore. Do you use the instapot often? Isn’t it much like a croc pot?
I cooked boneless chicken thighs in 9 min and frozen boneless chicken thighs in 15 min. There is a warm up period that adds to the cook time that is listed and also a pressure release time amount. I think it's the fact that you don't have to watch over your food while cooking, put it in the pot and walk away, come back after a few minutes and it's ready. That's what makes the pot desirableSo it really does cook things fast? I know it may seem like a stupid question since it’s called “insta” but will it cook things fast as in beef stew and rice and things that normally take a while to get tender?
nice!!!I’ve been eyeballing them at work all during the holiday season. We don’t have too many left at the moment. I’m waiting for my 35% employee discount day then I’ll snatch one up
