I don't usually have crabby birds during molting, Maui is my exception. He molts heavy and the pins stay soft much longer than the rest of my birds. You really can't touch him. He wants you to preen his head until you touch him, then he yells and tries to bite. You don't even have to touch a pin to provoke him. He runs off and 5 minutes later comes back to ask for more scritches... it starts all over.

While he loves baths, they really don't seem to help much. Then you just have wet crabby bird.

No. He is so small. Just 1000 grams. Kailua is 960 and she is larger than Maui. I call him my little man, it's like a baby macaw forever size. He will turn 6 next month.
