Your dedication to your husband is beautiful and shows how much you loved him and were devoted to him. I am so sorry for your loss, for some reason we all believe that we will live for ever.

well no we didn't expect to live forever and while I'm not afraid of death i thought we would at least grow kinda old together,im 49 be 50 in april he was 52 would have been 53 in july,so for anyone who reads this and comes away with anything please get life insurance i don't care your age or your health we never really know when it can happen to us my husband in his great wisdom kept putting that off and now has left me with nothing,if it was not for his boss and the great kindness of the sub-contractors and people who's homes he worked on and knew what a great guy he was i now at least have some money to stash in the bank that came in the sympathy cards they sent,and now I'm also having the fun of my first time going through the hell that is social services which really sucks as i try to find a job since i have been a housewife for the last 13yrs,plus i really need to get my GED which they do help with and at this point I'm so emotionally drained.

I didn't mean that we think we'll live forever but I don't think any one of us have placed a certain age at which we will die. Depending on how old our parents and immediate relatives were when they passed away, I think we gauge our lifelines on them.

My brother, 3 years younger than I am, was afraid that he'd die suddenly of a heart attack like our dad did; he's dying of esophageal cancer that has metastasized to his bones, liver and bowel lining. He'll be 59 tomorrow. His 31st wedding anniversary is later this month and Dad passed away on Carnaval weekend in 1981.

I am sorry for your loss, it is heart breaking and while some of us may plan for it it doesn't minimize the shock, the loss or the sorrow.
