He sure hit the jackpot when you came along 
Very nice of the vet to lower the costs for you. Almost 7 years ago I found a Sharpei wandering the streets, owner had kicked him out because his Mrs had just given birth, I took the dog straight to my vet as I also had a Sharpei - they never charged me, not one cent. That dog lived with me for 3 months before I found him a home. I haven´t paid a consultant fee at the vet for Jacob ever since.
