I just bought a lot of organic baby foods for my Lorikeets:

Some of them contain the following ingredients:

- Chia Seeds
- Brown Rice
- Millet (Is this the same as bird millet?) :o:
- Flaxseed
- Quinoa
- Natural Vanilla
- Amaranth
- Rosehip

Are all of these alright for birds?

The only thing that I am not 100% sure on is the vanilla. Hopefully someone will be able to answer that for you. Where did you get those? The ingredients are great! Oh and the millet is probably food grade millet. I buy the food grade millet for bird bread.

Awesome! Thank you!! :dance4:

I found them at my local Woolworths supermarket. It's Australian made and owned so I'm not sure if it will be easily available to you guys.

Here's an example of the ingredients from some of the packs:

I liked the fact that it was organic as well as free from preservatives, wheat, gluten, dairy, lactose and egg. So I bought all the flavours they had (12 different ones) and hoped that the ingredients were bird safe. I'm very happy that it looks like I'll be able to feed all of them (except 1 if the vanilla is not alright)!

It's also a carbon neutral product, which is a bonus. :)

Oh wow those look like some GREAT ingredients. Are they only found in australia? If they're bird safe I'd love to pick up some to make treats from or mix in here and there. My fids LOVE baby food if it's mixed into their normal foods.:highfive:

The company that makes it is Australian made and owned, so I would imagine it's only available in Australia?

Here's their website: Organic Bubs - The Organic Baby Food Company

Oh, I see they have an online store! If shipping costs aren't too bad then maybe people outside of Australia can order some!

I've seen baby food packaged like that here at the grocery store. I've never stopped to read the labels though. Not sure if it is the same or not.

You guys are making super excited to try them out! :D

We have other brands of baby food in Australia packaged the same way. But I've always been put off by the *added* citric acid and vitamin C and so on in these brands.

This is the first baby food I've come across that has *ZERO* added stuff. Yay!

All it says on the back is Natural Vanilla <1%.

Could it just be a natural vanilla bean that they used?

EDIT: Found it! On their website they say Natural Vanilla Bean Extract. :D So does anyone know if vanilla beans are bird safe?
