That's funny. My cockatoo never does this, that I notice, so I'm assuming it's a macaw thing. But maybe other parrot species do this as well?? My girl usually does it when she lands on something new or that has a busy pattern, like our oriental rug in the living room. I imagine her thinking, "does this rug make my feet look big?"

It's Kailua and I have no idea why the feet obsession. Korbel does it a few times a day but nothing like her. She does this whenever standing on a semi flat surface.... consistently and constantly. Lol

That was just like watching Burt sometimes.
He is always fascinated with his feet but only gets that intense level of interest in them from time to time. Maybe once every month for about a week he goes through doing the 20sec feet check. I can’t really seem to pick up on anything that brings the interest (or maybe concern lol) to his feet.
I could actually pick a spilt second before the feet stare every time because I have watched it with such amusement quite a few times in Burt.

I love your videos, your birds are always so stunning and adorable.

Just FYI, two of my grandsons beg for bird videos. I ALWAYS feel comfortable with showing them yours (not Joe's underwear video though......snicker).

But NOW they can show off their counting skills while watching one of your videos.
