I'm disappointed that there is so little activity on the Linnie section of the forum. I am so excited about my Gigi and would love to talk about her to others.

Hey Matt! Yep, you have Gigi's mom and dad! Can't wait to hear about their beautiful babies down the road! So how old are the chicks now? Do you know colors yet?

Hey Matt, Brian said he is nearly sure Gigi is a girl. At almost 3 months, she has very little black, bands and dots. Also I watched a youtube that mentioned that female heads are a little less blocky. Her head was definitely more similar to the female bird. I don't have any real need to know for sure.

Do you know what kinds of greens you have?

Thanks Mizzely, I need to explore the other areas more. Is there a section just for "Oh my gosh, I love this bird!!!!" or perhaps "How could any bird be any cuter???"

But seriously, Linnies have won me over. After having mostly big birds all my life, I had no idea I could have a bird that is "all parrot" in such a small package. Just now I opened her cage door and she didn't scramble as usual to get out. Probably worn out from the grandkids' visit. Instead she put her head completely down, exposing her neck. Then I petted her for 5 minutes until my hand went numb lol.

Yes! Bird Boulevard is all things bird, Feathered Photos Freeway has lots of cute photos :)

I browse by New Posts so I can browse everything people are discussing at once :)

Just posted on Bird Boulevard! Added my girl to the total number of birds on the Forum. I will look at new posts from now on. Great idea!

Yes, I have two linnies! They're brothers and both turned 8 years old this month. I usually post in the photo section rather than species specific sections.

Suileeka, so cute! Love the two different greens together! I guess when you have several kinds of birds it makes sense to post in general areas.

They are adorable. I thought about breeding them at one point. We had more but have lost a few. My last one, Pyp, had a huge tumor and I felt so bad for his mate, Winnie. I got them a nest box but he passed away too quickly. She did lay one set of eggs before he passed. I only had one male and four females and we got another male after Pyp passed but I'm not so sure I want more than six so we haven't given them the nest box back since...I'm such a mean mommy!:)

Aww you're not a mean mommy! Breeding is a big deal. On a much tinier scale, I had 2 zebra finches that were baby making machines. It was so fun to watch the eggs hatch, and then each little cheek patch would appear and it's a boy! My couple had 3 clutches, 3, 5, and 5, all boys! I gave the Mom and Dad and all the babies to the breeder. Exhausting and adorable. lol
