This would be on an apartment wall so I need to have something that is removable without damage to the wall.

What do you think of this one?

Peel & Stick Backsplash Matte Granite Marble effect Contact Paper Self-Adhesive Removable Wallpaper P744 : 2.00 Feet X 6.56 Feet - - Amazon.com
This is the one I used:
d-c-fix 346-0306 Decorative Self-Adhesive Film, Grey Marble, 17.71" x78" Roll - Wall Decor Stickers - Amazon.com
I've adjusted it several times and even removed pieces and it hasn't damaged the paint at all.

Ad does not say it's removable. Using it in an apartment would be tricky if I could not get it off without damage underneath.

When I had a grey she ate soft foods out of the cage. No messy walls. My budgies don't spend much time away from their play areas in or on top of cage so all food is subject to land on the wall.

It's funny - the wall by Lucius' cage is totally fine/not messy usually. But Charlie manages to fling and splatter is food all over his surrounding wall(s)!

I have a couple of old curtains that I tie on the cage wall closest to the house wall...once they get yucky I change them and wash the yucky one...Dusty doesn't chew them and it wouldn't be too much of a problem as they are all cotton

Good ideas here. I am anticipating moving to a more affordable apartment early next year. Been on a 2 year waiting list and Feb is the mark for that. I have the item Laura wrote about on my Amazon wish list.
