How come we don't celebrate new mods?

You guys are always sneaking new mods in when we are not looking. Just curious why we don't get a chance to celebrate and give congrats? Most all sites I am a member of post an announcement and welcome to the mod team type thing.

We never have Carole. We have always advocated low key moderation and in keeping with that principle, we generally don't announce staff changes.
