we live in fl and it’s crazy hot right now. Good idea to get your birds cool for those of you who live where it’s crazy hot. Fill up gallon jugs of water and freeze them. The chickens will sit on them and it cools them down. If you cool the feet you cool the bird , mine love it . 35003746-7373-497F-B8C6-309BF5C61037.jpeg

I've seen people fill plastic tubs and dump the block of ice in the yard for their dogs, but never thought about it for birds. Too neat. If you make ice blocks for dogs, you can freeze toys in so they get different toys as the ice melts.

My chickens love a nice cool dirt bath on hot days. If you keep soil in a basement of conditioned space and give them a nice large container to bathe in they will really love cooling off that way. Mine are comfortable using a large container in their enclosure and of course they find their own when they are out exploring via free range.
