Bacardi passed away today:(
My mother bought her 6-7 years ago as an impulse from a pet shop. I took her care upon me and after a month or two brought her buddy home, Special a flamish giant mix. He was huge, and she small, but theh were the best of friends and Bacardi was in charge. We did agility together and had evening cuddles almost ever night. She loved training so much, she would spin around and sit on her hind legs if I came by and she wanted a treat.
I build them a run outside so They could dig and run freely the whole day. In autumn they had fallen leaves to play in, in winter they explored snow, and in the summer and spring they had fresh branches and foilage. Special passed away in an accident three years ago. Then a classmate found a young rabbit, who no one seemed to be missing and eventually I brought him home. Breezer and Bacardi hit it off immediantly. Bacardi was a little boss and Breezer would follow her lead everywhere. Bacardi loved chewing so much, when I brought them a new foraging toy she would run around with it, shaking it like crazy.
Breezer is a laid back fellow who doesn’t enjoy human interaction much, so I left them more to their Own devices, giving them box castles to chew and occasionally a scritching session for Bacardi.
Now my little girl is no more. She passed away laying next to the cardboard box she was working on.

Always so curious, never a moments rest. May you now explore the land behind the rainbow bridge together with your buddy Special, my love.

Thank you all very much:hug8:
I buried her close to Tiki in a lovely meadow. I feel better looking back at all the good memories, but knowing she is not there to tear up my stuff and follow me to insist on Some head stratches hurts. I am mostly concerned for Breezer. He has been hiding and grieving. Eating, but not cheerfully.
I am torn about what to do, a new buddy is best for him but I am not sure I want to do that. I Will have to make the best decision for him though. I am not sure how to comfort him in the meantime:( It breaks my heart to see him like that. I Will spend extra time with him to hopefully ease his grief a bit:) I will bring him inside and build a pen under and around the bird cages if he doesn’t have a buddy before the real winter comes.
