hi all I’m new here just acquired a pair of parrotlets that are acting like a pair and going in and out of the nest box but the apparent female has blue on her wings and rump , we are going over to a friends Friday for him to double check him/her I’m adamant it’s a male . Any help would be appreciated Thankyou x

Hey there! Welcome to AA! Do you have any photos of your parrotlets? Because they are sexually dimorphic they should be visibly quite easy to sex.

These are photos of a normal green and a blue mutation male. If there is cobalt blue on the wings, your girl is indeed a male.

Can clearly tell the male with the blue on eyes and wings but the one that’s supposed to be famale has no blue on the eyes but a lighter blue on the wings and rump . Thankyou all for making me feel so welcome
