Hi, everyone! I'm new here to Avian Avenue, and I thought I'd just introduce myself! I'm a minor and I have 2 Budgerigar parrots! I'm unsure of their age, but their names are Skittles and Nico. Skittles is also known as "Squawks," as he does a lot of squawks and chirping! Nico is also called "Nibbles" because he bites a lot! They are both male, and were both bought from pet stores (now I know to adopt!". Neither of them are very tame, especially Nico. Skittles will sit on your shoulder an preen your hair, but he HATES hands! You grab him and he'll have a big squawking freak out! I hope that with help and advice here on this forum, I can make them tame Budgies!
I have had Budgies ever since the age of 7 or 8. My first Budgie, Bella, was tame when we got her. She came from a pet store, but she was very attached to an employee who worked there. When we first saw her, she was just hanging out in his his chest pocket! Sadly, I lost Bella years ago. After her, I got Alex. He was also a pet store bird, and sadly, I didn't get to even tame him or get to know him before he passed. He died from a sickness which I guess he had had ever since he had been at the store. Now I have Skittles and Nico! I've had them for a few years, and they are VERY much bonded together, so it's prove harder to tame them. Nico doesn't want anything to do with people, so I just let him be.
Anyway, so yeah, now I have these two very bonded Budgies, who I love a lot! I hope to one day expand my bird family and adopt more feathered friends into my home! Thanks for reading!
