I just styarted to smell something burning and realized that my father had put the oven on to self cleann not thinking. I am not sure how long. Lucy was already in my room in bed door shut. I have opened up all windows in the house and turned all fans I could get on. There is a small hepa filter in the room with her. And a towel at the base of the door what else can I do? I am freaking out now.

You've covered everything pretty well. How much fume smell is there in your room now? Don't panic.

Shut or cover any vents that may be in the bird room.

Fresh air would be the best for her right now, I say that not knowing your outside temperature. If the fans you are using have a strong draw that will suckl the air out of the house you could open your bed room window, remove the towel at the bottom of the door and let the out side air come in your window and out under the door. Only do it if you know it will work.

Keep a close eye on your bird and know where you can go for emergency treatment, like oxygen and activated charcoal.

keep us posted.

If the fans you are using are strong enough to pull the air away from under your door the air change in the room will help even if for a short period. Once the room is filled with fresh air put the towel at the base of the door and close the window. A hepa filter working with fresh air is better than one trying to clean dirty air.

I have an attic fan that I could turn on but it will make the house extremely cold if I did what do you think?

Would it be safe even with it being so cold?

The attic fan will get rid of the foul air in a hurry even if you do it for a few minutes. Make sure you open your window a bit to get a clean air change in your room. Open a couple of window in the how a bit to clear the air every where. Just draw fresh air in and the foul air out then close the windows and shut the attic fan off.

Attic fan is on and every window in the house is opened up. Thank you for all of the very quiock replies.

I do not think I noptice any smells now. I have had all the windows open but Lucy for about 25 minutes at least and the fan with Lucy's window open for 4 minutes.

Can you remove her from the house? To a friends house?

Once you have an air change in the house, put a small fan in the kitchen window and open a window a small bit between you and your kitchen. Doing so will create positive negative pressure ventilation to pull any toxin outside.

If there is an air vent in your room you may want to cover it by taping a plastic garbage bag over it so any caught fumes in the vent won't get through tonight.
