Moving in
In August last year we got a lady friend for our 4 year old African Grey. It took a couple of months before they were ready to move in together, but they are now a "couple", well sort of! She, Nina, was only 18 months when she joined us, but right from the start she knew what she wanted. She is parent reared, Jasper is hand reared which means he has a lot to learn. I know that neither are sexually mature yet, but I would really like some info. on what some of their behaviour's might mean. I was surprised that I couldn't find much on the courting behaviour of captive Grey's. They fight a lot and I did manage to find out that this is part of the process, but they do some strange things with their feet, for instance he will put his foot in her beak and shout when she bites him! She does the same with him..... Can any one help?
