Not sure if this is the right place to post (sorry) but I’m really worried for my budgie and I was hoping somebody could give me some advice
My bird has been very fluffed up and often violently shakes and his tail bobs a little bit and his droppings are normal colored but when the land on the white paper towel there’s a light green liquid underneath. He also stopped talking to me last night but seems to have recovered a little bit this morning. He’s also had a purple-ish build up of skin around his cere. I don’t have a vet and not sure how to help him. Would it be okay to give him a bath and a warm place to stay and wait it out?? Thanks for any advice...

He needs a vet. What city/country are you in? The people here are very helpful and may be able to find you a vet.

Could you post a picture of his cere? Your boy may be an eggbound girl. This is a serious, deadly condition.

If he's ill, I wouldn't give him a bath. Just keep him warm. I will tag some people who may have insight, but when in doubt a vet is always best. I hope he's ok.

Definitely would put him in a warm place and try to find a local vet, fluffed up and quiet is never a good sign. Birds hide their illness, and if your budgie is showing signs, he's probably much sicker than he's showing. I know in some countries it's harder to find vet care, hopefully you can find a vet.
I hope you can get help for your little guy!

here’s his cere. He’s also about ten years old. The purple developed almost a year ago over a week that I left for vacation and when I came back it was like that and I googled it and thought it was stress and a hormone level change. Also noticed he’s passing droppings very frequently. 5387597A-DC7A-443E-BD2A-51843F12C803.jpeg

This doesn't sound good - as someone here said - if you will list your location, maybe through searching you can find a vet.

Im so sorry to hear that your bird isn’t feeling well.

First things first, that’s a female bird. As mentioned above, she may be egg bound, which is very serious.

Hopefully one of our members will be able to assist you in finding a local vet.

The discoloration of his cere could indicate he has a tumor which is causing the color change. (I'm not seeing female - I'm seeing a male that's going downhill)

Unfortunately, I don't know that there is much that you *CAN* do... (assuming that there is a tumor) if surgery is an option, it would be expensive and risky. I don't know if a diet/lifestyle change could help at all.

Regardless of what could be going wrong with him, I would still recommend taking him to a vet. Only a vet could even attempt to properly diagnose any issues.

I'm seeing a sick male too. Could be hormonal, could be anything. We're shooting in the dark. Definitely definitely get him to a vet ASAP.
To avoid any further confusion can you post a photo - other than your profile pic which clearly shows male - with his cere from before this came on?
