Great news, glad he's going to be alright :hug8:

As far as how much venom is in each sting from a wasp, I haven't the slightest idea. I definitely agree that they're one of the more aggressive "bees" though (a yellow jacket that is). I think when you're talking about then, most people will classify all the yellow and black striped guys as bees, the furry looking ones that leave their stingers behind being the true bees [honey bees, bumble bees] and then the more streamlined slick ones [with a skinnymiddle] a wasp [yellow jackets, hornets]...

So glad she is doing okay. Poor sweetie, that had to hurt. Me thinks it's time for a new toy and special treat. Something that would take her mind off her pain and swollen eye. Hmmmmm, how about a steak? :)

Well, she got up and ate like a little pig, swelling has decreased .... the vet gave her a steroid shot instead of Epinephrine and I have to repeat the Benadryl at 9 tonight and she is getting Rimadyl for pain.... Bless her little heart.....

Apparently, she was "lucky" because the yellow jackets are active around here but this is not the time of year when they are aggressive.... I would say she has at least 10 whelps on her.....
I told my husband the area she came running from and he found the hole they are going in and he is going out to pour ?gas or Kerosene? something like that in the hole......

Scary..I am so glad she will be ok. :hug8:What a great vet you have.:highfive:
I had the same thing happen to two dogs once in Roanoke VA. I was not used to any type of bee/wasp making a hole in the ground, but that's where they were. My dogs kept sticking their noses into it. They were unrecognizable once they swelled up!!

I'm so glad she's doing better. :hug8: For a bit of comic relief...our husky Kita used to try and catch bees in his mouth. He learned his lesson one day.

(we had him checked out, I forget if he needed any meds but he was fine. It was rather amusing though after the initial panic.)
