My flock consists of 2 Meyer's and 2 pionus, a dusky and a white cap.
They're all rescue/rehome, with little to no known history. I do know the dusky was hit because the previous owner advised me that it's how you discipline a bird.
Needless to say, I am so glad to have him in a home he deserves, and I am taking things rather slowly to gain his trust. He usually will step up if offered a pine nut, but sometime even that will not get him to come over.
I welcome any advice on continuing to strengthen my relationship with this rather frightened bird. He also is very leery of head scratches, unlike my white cap who would joyfully sit for them pretty much all day.
