Hello from Wisconsin

I posted a thread a few days ago (Grieving Budgie) and got such great replies! Thanks again, all who helped me. Time for an actual introduction. I had two new budgies. Now just one, named Packer (green and gold and from Wisconsin). They were a birthday present from my daughter and granddaughter. We all live in a big 1920s house--they are upstairs and my husband and I are downstairs. One year ago, we visited a zoo in WIsconsin Dells (famous tourist trap in our state ) and went to a small zoo. They had an aviary named "The Parakeet Experience"--wow! Full of budgies. We had such fun. If I can find the pic of me I'll post. Anyway, this brought back nice memories of childhood parakeet pals, which led to the birthday present. I'm happy to have found such a great site.

I lived near Wausau WI for a few years in the north woods. No offense but I cant say that I liked it. I was in the Dells briefly but did not see the birds. That would have been a great experience. I wonder how the Parakeet experience was started?

I lived in the Northwoods for three years. I didn't like it either. Wasn't born here. Started life in LA and grew up in California but have moved a lot. Been in Wisconsin for about 25 years now. We are north of Milwaukee and south of Green Bay. Trying again with the photos. Not sure what happened...seems pretty simple.

What wicked fun the budgie experience looks like, I vaguely remember @taxidermynerd (I think) going to a similar type of thing where the birds were free to land on you.

Yes, the zoo in Michigan City has a budgie aviary where they can come hang out if they want. It's pretty great
