Hello from Skye in SF

Hi, I just joined this forum. I have a parrotlet but have learned so much from parents of other parrots, and not just parrotlet parents. So, I've decided to join Avian Avenue. It's great learning about other species as well. When the time comes and I am able to have more than one bird in the future, I will have so much information to make the right choice for me, my parrotlet, and any future additions to the flock I've had Skye for almost a year now, and we've come a long way. She has bonded very strongly with me, considering it took me more than 8 weeks to coax her to step up from the day I got her. Thanks to all you fellow bird lovers and a lot of patience!

Thanks Sarahmoluccan. Most of my friends now think I've turned into a crazy bird lady, so I avoid talking about Skye with them. It's nice to have this safe space for asking questions and advice, and for sharing stories about our beloved fids.

That is the cutest emoji with birds! Skye is indeed a sweetheart. The breeder I got her from had clipped her wings but I decided to grow them out. It's fascinating to watch her progress and discover that she can actually fly. In spite of this, her favorite spot is still me! She'll fly but will always fly back to me.
