Hi All!
I'm Sharon and live with my Partner Mark in the southern US. My sister had a Green Cheek Conure named Tiki that had been in the family for 23 years, but she could no longer give her the attention she needed because she also had three very demanding dogs... so Aunt Sharon decided she'd come to our house! Tiki lived with us for her final 3 years and we loved every minute of it! She completely ran our house! The door to her cage was always open. She had freedom and was much loved. When she passed, it broke our hearts. We grieved like you wouldn't believe! It's amazing how such a tiny little creature can make a house seem so empty when they're gone. We can never replace Tiki, but when our grieving began to subside, we felt it was time to consider making room for a new life. After about a year, we met a special breeder of conures who hand picked and raised a baby especially for us and I'm excited to say... I am now the happy mama of a new baby girl (the breeder feels sure its a girl) green cheek and my heart has found joy again! Her name is Midori and she's 11 weeks old today. She's cuddly, loves to lay on her back and have her head, neck & belly feathers rubbed/fluffed... and she loves to give kisses! Also, we just learned that she loves the opening theme to PeeWee's Playhouse! She chirps and sings right along with Chairy!
