Hello! Newish here (I had an old account I used once or twice many years ago) and just here to enjoy a love of parrots!
I had a GCC 3 years ago. Basil was his name, he was a "Good bird." (His words.) But I had a baby, had my great-aunt watch him so I could get adjusted to motherhood for a little while, and he flew out her open door when she went to check on something outside. It was heartbreaking for everyone.
I love conures and am currently saving up for a crimson bellied conure! I'm giving myself lots of time to get my family used to the idea of a parrot again (the dog was fine, my husband got bit a lot, and my 2.5 yo toddler needs to be at least 5-7 yo before I'll trust him around a parrot.)
