As @rocky'smom has said many times, the dust they leave behind is really the memories we have of them. We as parronts never forget our losses and the happy memories are never lost.

I hope you can remember him in all the happy, crazy memories that only a fid can give one.

Thank you everyone for the support, it has been an awful day. The worst part of all of it was Claudia was home sick for the day and was there when I uncovered his cage. I was a total mess and she was beside herself as well. We just snuggled on the couch for a couple of hours crying before I had to go in to work.
We buried him in the backyard in our sunflower patch. I asked her if she wanted to sing a song and we sang a very tear-full "Jesus loves me".
I know we grieve together here, and I appreciate everyone's thoughts. Thank you

I know that this is not exactly the planting season in our area so I'd suggest marking his grave and planting a special plant over him next year. Maybe something that attracts bird or butterflies.
