I didn't pay attention to the antecedent the first two times, but the last on was after eating rather dry steamed edamame. I've emailed vet vet too. It was exhausting for him.

I'd bet something is stuck in his crop and he's trying to get it adjusted because it's dry and bothering him. Dobby does similar occasionally but never looks like he's in pain or it's wearing him out. Whatever it is I hope you get it sorted out and he feels better soon. Maybe a good drink would help him get things a bit better till it gets figured out.

he ate some food after that so he had stopped. The only new thing today was quarter regular grape from Chile. He hasn't had that before but the vet said it would be okay.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I hope he's ok. Poor guy! Looks so uncomfortable

thanks for the concern folks! He's doing well this morning and ate his wake up snack normally. I'm attributing the behavior last night to the pesticide laden grape from Chile. Waiting for US organic grapes to come in to publix.

So glad there is improvement. Like corn kernels, soy beans have a thin outer covering and perhaps that got stuck for a while. I don't feed corn any more because of that.

I've sprayed Spee's legs and feet with Avi-vera spray. Don't know if that really helps, though. It's supposed to be soothing but whether or not it helps the arthritis I have no idea. Hard to tell when it comes to Spee since he's always had issues with his legs and feet.

Once a year...? Doesn't he drink out of his water dish? I remember you posted about Lixits. Does he have a water bottle?

Don't recall Rio ever doing it.

Guess they could get hiccups too.

I read not to give celery as the coarse veins can get stuck.
