Also remember that there is a little bit of Gary in Hazel since they're siblings. It might take a while to show but if she's falling asleep in your hand that is a HUGE vote of confidence on her part.

Update: she fly's around like I'm going to kill her. Yesterday I had to leave for work because I couldn't catch her. Let her have the run of the house.

But big accomplishment today, she stepped up to me from her perch. Woo!

My day off. She's definitely coming around. Today I woke up to her talking. Opened her cage and she flew out and onto the curtain rod. I walked up slowly and she walked right into my hand and wanted safety. Success!

Patience is the key with gccs - they won't allow themselves to be pushed into anything unless they are interested in doing it (then again find me any parrot that's a pushover). I am so glad that she's coming around because you were so worried about her initial homecoming behaviour towards you. You better watch out, you may just end up with a daddy's little girl and she'll have you wrapped around her little claw.

Not one bite so far either. She's a handful, but I'm liking this not drawing blood stuff.

She's still very skittish. But I can walk up to her cage and she'll want some attention. Pretty awesome after a few weeks.

I know its hard when you have to go out & can't get them back into the cage but you'll have to figure that one out. Maybe she should stay in the cage in the morning before work if you are not able to get her back in as flying around the house all day can bring many dangers.
Make sure to shut the bathroom or at least close the toilet lid so she can't drown.
Also they love to crawl under & behind things & wires look especially tempting to chew on & that can be very dangerous.
They really are safer in there cages when no one is home as they get themselves into trouble & no one is there to help.

Dobby will bite, chew, and throw anything in the bathroom and soap and tooth paste are his favorite things to eat so I second closing the bathroom door.
