Desensitizing Chickie

Rudy has a green harness - he's just showing Chickie nothing to be scared of

Aviator, Right?

Did you know that you have to take the head part off sideways to reduce friction On the way off of the bird...... or at least that's how it works with calico macaws... Specifically mine.

Just ordered a couple more in some new colors for Kumiko and the one and a half budgies. Even got to talk to the owner the company on the phone about the one winged Angel and he told me that the smaller birds have their straps put behind the legs instead of in front of the legs......He comes across as one of those rare people who actually has an answer for everything about what he's manufacturing............ just a great company to deal with :)

Chickie is lucky to have Rudy to look up to..... The bird brain is designed for A variant of reciprocal learning, so having two birds on harnesses is actually easier Training than just trying to Train one--Even if they are at different levels :)

Lets race...hahaha....joking. I am taking slow route. Able to lay harness on oscars back while giving him a treat. Keeps his head in harness much longer and is generally getting more comfortable....baby steps....baby steps....but will get there.
Keep us posted on your progress please.

thanks everyone, and for the tips, Menoaminx. I've been placing the harness close to the caiques cage while I am gone. Wayne I'm slower than you -- you've made great progress with Oscar! :)

Thanks Saroj....I have done enough training to know not to rush anything or will suffer a set-back. Bird calls the shots....I just facilitate the training...
BTW keep up the great work!
