It was one year ago today that Watson came to live with me. His previous owner had advertised on kijiji that she "needed him gone -- soon." After some correspondence back and forth, my sister and I made the one and a half hour drive to meet him. We took him on the spot and drove directly to a store to get him a flight cage.
According to his original owner Watson is about two years old. Due to his serious manner he is often overshadowed by the zany Cricket but he is a wonderful friend to him. They are bonded and it is so sweet to watch them interact.
While he dutifully steps up, Watson prefers to be a relatively hands-off bird and that is okay. He never bites. He came to us, a bit undersized and not very strong but has since put on muscle and weight and flourished. He has also developed to show more confidence and his own personality.
He has brought Cricket and I so much happiness in his own quiet way. We are lucky to have found him.
