6 years ago today I got my pretty girl, Quack. She is now about 16 years old.
Here are some pix of her from New Year's Day, standing on the couch cushion.

Yeah, it's weird. She has 3 of them. That one is striped - red, grey, red with white around the edges. At least 1 is just half a feather. I've had her checked out - liver, etc. are fine. The vet agrees it could be due to trauma (mini pecking fights with Darwin) but not really sure. She didn't always have them so I don't think she could really be a red factor.

It wasn't Quack's fault. (Never is. ) I had just had a fight with my Mom on the phone. Then went to try to towel Quack to do her nails. She is afraid of being towelled. I was nervous and upset. Quack was nervous and making me more nervous. I held her in my hand and tried to slowly bring the towel behind her. I had done it successfully at the vet not long before that. But I was holding her a bit too high on top of the negative vibes. As I brought her closer the only thing she saw to grab to get away from the towel was my lip. Then I realized I had a bird hanging from my lip. I had to pry her beak open to get her off. Had to go get stitches at the hospital.

I was more nervous of her for awhile but we have a good relationship now. She may never be snuggly but she likes to dance and whistle and now Loves to be swung upside down! She is an awesome girl!
