starting today my green cheek Oskar started doing this weird thing, bobbing his head and shaking it at the same time with his beak open, never seen him do this before. He is about yr old, perhaps you guys might know what this behavior means or if it mean anything. He does his fast head bobbing when hes excited.

It is either regurgitation or a fungal infection in the crop. Its hormone time for birds. Is he bringing up food with the head bobbing?

At first it looked like regurgitation, however I'm not sure about the super fast head bob.

@webchirp would be the expert in this kind of thing ;)

I'd get him to the vet just to be on the safe side.... doesn't appear to be normal behavior. Take video with you.

I have had a green cheek regurgitate, it never looked like this. Almost looks like it is trying to dislodge something from its crop. I would personally go to the vet.

the fast head bob was something he always had done usually followed by some sort of imitation of a noise, like whistling, or copying the cat call sound

Hmm. I'd go to the vet as well. Roy has gotten car sick and retched a bit, but it didn't look like this. It was much more controlled, less sideways head movement.

he only done it twice with it being few hrs apart and this happened about few hrs after eating his launch which was just his usual meal and some plain unsalted crackers( fav. treats)

Please have you bird checked out by an avian vet. You asked for help/advice and we gave it to you.

If he has something stuck in his crop, or a crop infection, or a slow crop, he could be experiencing discomfort which would explain the behavior to me.

If he hasn't done it again since he probably got it loosened up.

If his breath smells sour at all though, a vet visit is definitely needed

Yes that isn't the normal regurgitation because of the shake at the end...^ what Mizzely said ^

His breath doesn't have any sour smell to it. I sent the video to my vet when i called about Oskar behavior. she said it seemed like he was trying to regurgitate and it got kinda logged going up partially. He hasn't done it again since and he's eat his usual, he must have managed to loosen it up himself.

Sunflower had something stuck in her crop once and it looked like that. She wasn't as fast or long with the head shaking, though. You might need a vet's help to get it out.
