I am sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you and your family. I don't believe there is anything harder than having to make the sad decision to help a companion animal to cross Rainbow Bridge and end their pain. For those of us who love animals, helping someone cross the Bridge is not any one of us thinks of. And yet, sadly, there are times when as family we find ourselves in that difficult position and it hurts like all get-out even knowing that it is the "right" thing to do.

@OK Mike You've done what several others here have been called to do and I am positive that you and your human family will meet all your beloved creatures at Rainbow Bridge. Hugs to all of you.

We had to say goodbye to our Border Collie Cheyenne today. At 15 years old she had a stroke and just could not function any more. Hard to say goodbye to one that's been a constant companion and family member that long. We've cried for 3 days over the decision and finally agreed that it's best for her. I know we'll see her again, and she knows she is and will always be loved.
