Does Glucosamine Chondroitin help with joint pains (limping) in dogs? If so what dosages for a 25 to 26 pound mini aussie?

The dosing would depend on the strength of the pills. I use glucosamine for dogs and the directions are clear on dosing.
The answer is yes, especially if it's arthritis.

My dogs have been on glucosamine for years. This is the dosing chart that I use. For such a small dog you might want to stay away from the human pills. They will need to be cut up and it can make dosing a pain.

Glucosamine:
Dogs 5-20 pounds: 250-500 mg
Dogs 20-45 pounds: 500 mg
Dogs 45-90 pounds: 1,000 mg
Dogs more than 90 pounds: 1,500 mg

Chondroitin:
Dogs less than 80 pounds: 900 mg
Dogs more than 80 pounds: 1,800 mg

I started giving them to my dachshund when he was 8, it has really helped him.
He is now 13 and gets around great, but before we started him on it he was having a hard time
getting up and the cold really bothered him. I had also done the same thing with my dachshund
before him, he lived to almost 16 and was very spunky up to his last weeks.

I give 1500mg to Major (65 pounds). He is also a senior dog (14 yrs). I just use human grade Glucosamine.

The pills I am looking at are 750 mg Glucosamine and 600 mg Chondroitin per pill.
