THIS IS NOT MEANT TO REPLACE VET CARE

911 Giles flew into my griddle while it was on. How do I treat possible burns?

Do you have anything like Neosporin cream (not ointment) or aloe vera?
I have an aloe plant and I always find the juice helps a lot with a fresh burn for both healing and pain.
If aloe gel is all you can get, it might still be worth a try on an older wound.
I agree, keep infection away.

Poor guy, that looks so painful. Being that your vet has already seen him, will they get some scripts together for you to just pick up or they may be able to call them into the pharmacy at Walmart.

That's actually a really good idea. I'd call them up and see if they can write up a prescription since they know he's been burned (even if they couldn't see the burns initially).

The blisters are still developing it seems. The blister was a small white one yesterday. The wound itself still bleeds sometimes. I think he's running it on his perches. I can't figure out how I would wrap it without him picking it off though. As for attitude, today was his best day since his mate died. He's very happy and active. So on that level he seems to be fine/not in pain.

His foot is covered in aloe, hence the shine.

The vet he saw stupidly closed before I could ask for scripts. :( They'll be open after New Year's. I found an emergency vet nearby. I get paid in two days and I could take him then. Until then I have to figure out how to prevent it from getting worse.

Keep everything extremely clean and take out anything hard in his cage. Put a towel on the cage floor and keep changing it, and wrap the perches in vet wrap. That looks very sore and painful, and it could easily get infected. Maybe you can barrow the money from somebody until payday? I’m glad he seems a bit happier today.

Wrap the perches double heck triple thickness vet wrap. Or wrap with non pilling double sided fleece then vet wrap over it.
