I use it a lot. I whisper to all of them when they start screaming. If they really want to hear you they have to stop and listen. Like someone posted previously, if you listen and acknowledge them when they start, as you would any other family member, it helps.
I agree on this, but also it depends on why they scream. If they scream for danger it will not help IMO.
But for morning flock calls it had helped me with both Eloy and Akela.

I've attended bird classes where they suggest doing that- talking very softly to your bird when he is screaming. So far, it hasn't worked for Elvis. LOL.
Whispering or talking softly doesn't work with my 'toos either.
