Omg they are so cute!
Cuter and cuter every post.
Finally into those those massive feet. They can both perch now, and they are working their wings getting ready to fly. Unfortunately they won't give each other room, and they beat each other with their wings.
No names yet. I'm going to let their new owners pick names for them. I can't do it because I get too attached and then I'm sad when they leave. At least the owners are always kind enough to send me pictures of my babies so I can see how they look all grown up.
Here are the parents. They both HATE my red phone case, so they get all fired up when I try to take a picture of them. I'm hoping the babies are this pretty when fully feathered.
Beautiful parents. Nice genes.
Seven weeks old today, and Tuesday for the one on the right. They have almost caught up in size, and it looks like they have grown into their feet, finally. I have some small pellets that I've been popping in their mouths while I play with them. They work on them, and they are starting to crush them, but not actively eating them yet. I hope they will start weaning soon as they seem to want less formula at each feeding, but are begging to be fed more often. One of them is already reserved and is going to its new home the week before Christmas
Looky Looky, we gots Birdies!!
They're coming along nicely aren't they?
They are so adorable!!! I don't think I'd be able to part with either of them!
These make 22 chicks this year. I have three that are pets, I'm not sure I could handle more. There just aren't enough hours in the day to give them all attention. It is great when I have those rare moments when one of them just wants to cuddle up on my shoulder and sit quietly for an hour or so.
I'm not so sure that the one on the right has grown into those Big Feet, yet.
They sure have grown nicely tho... Pretty birds.
Eight weeks old today. They spent a little time on the sofa with me this morning. We're learning social skills and how to step up. They are finally starting to eat on their own, but haven't quite figured out flying yet. One gave a flutter and went from the top of the cage to the counter top, but I told it that doesn't count. I haven't done a DNA test on them, but just from feeling their pelvis, I think they are girls.
They are both so beautiful!! You are definitely not keeping them?
No. I have three birds that are pets and I don’t have the time to devote to two more. One is already sold, just waiting for the new owners to come back from vacation.
They are beautiful.
