Fly High Tango

Some of you may remember Tango's battle with what we believed to be a strange kidney disease a few months back. She seemed to recover nicely from that, but we lost her on October 5th. Tango came to us just under two years ago with her brother Mateo. She was strong and feisty to keep up with her brothers, but still the sweetest little parakeet. It’s unbelievable how something so small can leave such a big hole in your heart.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. She really surprised us with her passing. We had actually just commented the night before that she was flying so much better and was bossing her brothers around off the food bowls- which was unusual for her. It’s one thing to know that birds can go quickly, but it really hits home once you experience it.

I’m really grateful for our vet who came in on a Sunday just to see her a few months back. I know she would not have made it past that weekend and we wouldn’t have had any healthy time with her. They actually sent us a card after they learned she had died.

Yes, it is unbelievable how a creature so small and fragile can leave the hole in our hearts, but I surely know what you mean. I still miss my Lucy, to this day.
