Hello!
Im not a breeder but I was hoping you could help me.
My cockatiel just laid her first egg two days ago. Shes 9, so we werent really expecting the situation.
The problem is her poop. It seems like earlier she had some blood in her poop (it was dark) but by today it seems back to normal. Should I be worried? Is this normal?
Thank you in advance!

It is normal, but I am saying that with caution.

You may see blood on an egg or in her poop when they’re laying. But if the bloody poop continues, call the vet. Also look at the egg; if it looks normal, and you candle it (use a bright flashlight) and the inside looks like a normal egg yolk, she’s probably in the clear. But if the blood continues or the egg seems to have something weird in it —- vet visit is in order.
