Meeting neighbors
Martin is a 3 month old Goffins cockatoo. We are loving him...I wanted to teach him "SO BIG" (like with little kids) so that when I said SO BIG (in a certain voice) he throws his wings wide, head back, etc...great way to do an underhanded body check AND gets his mind off whatever he isn't supposed to be doing.
Well, started teaching it last friday - today, he did it 3 times for me...and he gets the joke. In fact, he now does "SO BIG" and trumpets in glee.
Now if I can get him to Cock-d-doodle do like a rooster! LOL
We are loving this little guy...I know everyone can identify with their own cockatoos, but it has been a long time since I have shared space with one so it is all coming back. BTW, my quaker (Lucille) hates him with a passion...hopefully she will be able to look at him, even through cage bars, without hissing and being the drama queen.
