Hi bird people!
I have a society finch, one of a pair of males who get along fine (no biting, aggression), who has begun huddling in the space between the top of the little bamboo nest and the top of the cage. Both birds do that when scared, but he just does it all the time now. He's definitely the beta of the two, but I haven't seen any signs of him being bullied, and he still cuddles and sings with/to the other finch just fine. I wondered what this behavior might mean. Is he scared of something? Protective of the nest? Does he want to avoid the other finch and hide?
Thank you in advance for your help!
