April, you should get one! They are so easy to look after... I have 2 at the moment, I've had rango for about 7 months and I just got "wrex", he is bright red with white dots. I love decorating their tanks and watching them, they're just so pretty. Only bad thing is their short lifespan. ):

I would love another as well but they do not get along well with my angelfish and gourami his colors are brilliant!

Bettas are my favorite! I have 3 currently and plans once these baby fish get big enough to sell to divide their tank and get two more bettas! They're my favorite fish, so much personallity.

They also don't have THAT short of a lifespan. Unless some freak thing happens my guys live 3-4 years. Both of my two right now are about a year and a half. Then I have a little female but she's only like 8 months.

He is gorgeous! I love Bettas. My fave part is letting them free after being in those itty bitty containers........ a 10 gallon tank makes them very happy!!!

I've had four and they lived 4 to 5 years.
