Sorry, sorry. I guess I'm spoiled. I've never not lived near an ocean of some sort. All you middle of the US people will just have to get creative. @JLcribber knows what's up.

This is the Pacific Ocean, from Stradbroke Island near where I live. It's one of the largest sand islands in the world.
