My Night plucks his own feathers.

I've only come to this conclusion after a failed nesting, his mate going on the attack, and his reactions to other baby birds. Usually outside birds like sparrows, doves, etc.

What can I do for him? He's a gorgeous bird, doesn't bite, and is incredibly social.

I do have a couple of special needs birds, one with an oil gland problem and a corticosterone issue. She is almost two months and still gapes for food, though she is not a lovebird. I've placed them close together and he hasn't been plucking. Night seems to be content 'babysitting' her?

Has anyone else seen this behavior in males?

Normally feather plucking is a result of stress, boredom or disease. What is stressing him out? Take away the stressor and give him something else to chew on - a preening toy or delicious busy food like pepper cores. I haven't had success getting a bird to stop plucking though, as my bird plucked because of liver failure. (But he was 24.) Best of luck!!!
