Are you ready for a cuteness overload!?

Chick #1
This one appears to have a grey gene, which is surprising. The grandmother of this chick (from dad's side) also had a grey gene, but dad doesn't visually look grey to me.

Chick #3
Also a surprise, a Sky Blue?! I was expecting a cobalt or a cobalt violet.

Both chicks.

Sorry it's been a while since the last update, life has been extreemely crazy and hectic!
The chicks are officially all feathered up and look like real birds now. They have all found homes and the new owners are all waiting patiently for these precious ones to be weaned and ready for new homes.

Chick #1
Male. Goldenface Fallow

Chick #3
Male. Sky Blue Fallow
His name is Murphy.

Fallows will always show cinnamon markings.

The albino gene and cinnamon gene are on the same allele, and the way the interact with each other will always be the same.
Red eyes like an albino. Cinnamon markings (and ONLY Cinnamon), and it allows the body colour to come through as well.

They're beauties. I'm not sure which one I like best. I'm usually partial to the blues, but that green boy is very handsome!

Usually around 8 weeks, sometimes a little older. Once they are comfortable outside the nest and are eating on their own, i transfer them to a weaning cage that sits in my living room. That way they get more used to people, noises, new surroundings ect. And I can easily keep an eye on them and make sure they don't regress. This is the time where they learn to be independent birdies, learn how to play, learn how to fly....

I'm never in a hurry to see them go, so if I feel like a baby needs a few more days or weeks, then I keep them for as long as it takes for me to be totally confident that they are ready to go.

that's great to hear you much sure they are fully ready to be on their own. as much as it is hard waiting its better then getting a baby that's not ready or too nervous/scared.
makes you a awesome breeder for sure all the hard work you put into your babies :)
