Good day everyone and welcome to yet another scaly birthday celebration!

Shown here is a lizard that some of you may not have seen or heard of yet, Luzon Giant Forest Skink (Sphenomorphus cumingi)

This was him when he was a baby. Barely 1.5" long amd rarely seen above the soil.

4 months later, he was a flamboyant wanderer

For his bday, he had lots of snails, millipedes and rotten figs that he loves sooo much

so cute! he has such beautiful eyes I recently caught a little skink in my house. I walked into the living room and he was sitting on the couch I am glad I found him before the dogs and cat did. Little guy

I had no idea skinks got that big, btw. is he full grown?

Well blue tongued skinks grow more than a 12-inch ruler. A monkey-tailed skink can grow more than 3 feet

Not much info but according to one herpetologist i talked to, he should be at least a foot long

oh yeah! I forgot about those guys. A friend in college that got me into reptiles actually had one of each of those that he kept in the animal science lab. not animal testing, just a place for us to keep cool reptiles, basically

I've read so much about how hard it is to keep lizards in captivity. Have to say he looks so healthy. You are doing such a great job taking care of him.

Well one thing is for sure, keeping any exotic animal is indeed a challenge in temperate countries. To those like me who experience hot and humid days all year long, keeping these animals are an easy-breezy
